Tasmania, before my sister and I embark on a 5 day tour of
this small island at the bottom of the world. We had 4
smashing days in Melbourne. 2-3 of them involved running
around on trams and busses, sleeping from jetlag, shopping
but trying not to buy because its all downhill once you
start, eating, more eating, cafes, more cafes, cool alleys
with hole-in-the-wall cafes, walking along beaches, being
taken for a drive along the Great Ocean Road outside of
Melbourne by the WONDERFUL parents of one of Margaret's (my
sister) tenants from her apt, not getting asked for our IDs
at the airport at all, getting there 45 minutes before our
flight, me getting sunburned (surprise surprise), enjoying
the urban life once again, and accepting a ride into town
from the airport from the guy sitting next to me on the
plane("Melby"-->"Tas").
Oh, and did I mention I skipped December 13th? And it's
tomorrow here?
Margaret and I are very different. I know how to make her
happy, which is good because I am also prone to frustrating
her a bit. Plus, we've barely spent time with each other
since I was 12 and she was in high school, because we've
been in our own collegiate and real-world (hah! i'm not in
the real world!) lives. So we're learning.
Anyways, now she is looking over my shoulder.
So, this is the story. I must now go because I've
overstayed my welcome at the terminal at the public library
in Hobart. I got a message back from one of the two WWOOF
(google it) hosts in Tassie that says they speak a bit of
Spanish and they're psyched! And sent a gorgeous photo! and
they like music, and it sounds good! I will make it all
happen later, though.
Marg and I are both realllllly excited for Sydney and
Matt's Coasthouse, which should be amazing. I really am
longing to get onto the sand and into the water at these
beaches I keep seeing.
Cheers!
Vicki

Fun! Keep us posted. And don't get lost at the bottom of the world, of else you'll have to listen to the Tom Waits song of the same name (it's in my blog).
Yay! I'm glad to know you're alive and well. NH is warm (boo) but good. Tomorrow's my last day at Harris before heading home, and then off on my own reality-postponing adventure. (but this isn't true, of course, since we live in reality, so whatever you're doing, no matter how fun, must be real) And you're not lame, by the way, which I can say since I know you pretty well. Enjoy yourself. I can't wait to see some photos!
Miss you.
